Top Dynamic Pricing Consulting Firms in 2026, Compared
by Dr. Phil Winder , CEO
Dynamic pricing consultants sell three different things:
- machine learning pricing systems built on your data, from firms like Winder.AI and Nexocode
- pricing strategy, from companies like Simon-Kucher, BCG, Bain and L.E.K.
- pricing software, like Duetto for hotels, or Conga or Pricefx
I run Winder.AI, which sells the first kind, so this list puts us in it. Even a software vendor can need outside machine learning work. Duetto sells hotel revenue management software, and it hired us for five months to test whether offline reinforcement learning could improve its own pricing. Where ML is not appropriate, the sections below suggest who’s best to call.
Which type of pricing help you need
First, question what kind of help you need for your business:
- A custom build. A consultant writes a pricing algorithm based on your data: demand models, contextual bandits, causal regression, offline reinforcement learning where the data supports it. The model is bespoke to your business and you own the intellectual property.
- Pricing strategy. A strategy firm decides what to charge and how to package it: price levels, discount policy, the commercial model, and the change programme that gets a sales team to follow it. You get a decision and a process, sometimes with a tool attached, such as BCG’s Pricing Catalyst.
- Pricing software. A vendor licenses software that computes prices for a problem many businesses share: B2B quotes and rebates, hotel room rates, vacation-rental nightly rates, retail markdowns. You configure it, and the vendor owns the model.
If no software fits your problem, or you want to aggressively optimise the pricing, you need a bespoke build. If the open question is what or how to charge, hire a strategy firm. If it is how to compute a price for a problem your industry shares, buy software.

Each row comes from the firm’s own site or an independent source, as of November 2026. The table covers firms that sell dynamic pricing work as a named service, and “self-reported” labels a figure the firm publishes about itself. Deloitte, Insight2Profit, Alexander Group, Zilliant, Competera, Omnia Retail, DataSentics, Tredence, Intuz, Applied Data Science Partners, MavREV and XOTELS appear in the sections below.
Criteria for judging a dynamic pricing consultant
The most important test for me was whether a buyer can check a pricing client: a named customer on the firm’s own site, or an analyst ranking that tested the product. Among the firms in this comparison, as of November 2026, BCG, Pricefx, Zilliant, Duetto, Competera and Winder.AI name pricing customers on their own sites. Nexocode, Intuz, Tredence and Valcon anonymise their pricing work or name no client, and so do most of the strategy firms.
The other columns answer a buyer’s next questions: who does the work (strategy partners, a vendor’s product, or engineers), where the firm is based, and whether it publishes a price.
For software, the evidence comes from analyst rankings: Gartner published its first Magic Quadrant for B2B pricing and rebate optimisation software on 13 April 2026, IDC runs MarketScapes for B2B and retail price optimisation, and hotel revenue management systems compete in the HotelTechAwards. The directory rankings that appear when you search for top pricing consulting firms, such as Vault and consultancy.eu, rank firms by size and prestige, and that says little about what a firm has done for a pricing client.
Machine learning pricing builders, Winder.AI first
An AI consultancy develops the pricing system from your data, and you own it. For specialists in reinforcement learning beyond pricing, our comparison of reinforcement learning consulting firms covers them.
Winder.AI
We build dynamic pricing for capacity-constrained inventory: hotels, travel, energy, marketplaces and retail markdowns. Our systems start from demand models. We use contextual bandits or causal regression when the data cannot support reinforcement learning, and offline RL when it can. Our dynamic pricing consulting services include an evaluation framework, because offline evaluation of pricing agents is biased: the model that picks prices is often the one used to score them. Our article on how an automated pricing algorithm is built walks an open-source pricing simulator up to an RL agent.
In our Duetto evaluation, over five months, we went from behavioural cloning baselines to Implicit Q-Learning on Duetto’s real booking data, and showed where RL beats simpler methods and what data quality it needs first. Duetto’s Senior Director of Data and ML gave it a recommendation score of 9 out of 10 and recommends us “to teams tackling genuinely hard ML or RL problems where correctness, evaluation rigor, and long-term impact matter more than quick demos.”
For Genesis Energy we built a reinforcement learning system to automate generation and pricing decisions in New Zealand’s power market. The case study adds its own caveat, that RL may have been overly complex for a single power generation scheme.
I wrote O’Reilly’s Reinforcement Learning, and Winder.AI has run production machine learning since 2013. Our reinforcement learning development practice has delivered RL in aviation, energy, finance, manufacturing and supply chain. The company is registered in Harrogate.
We publish our price bands, listed under costs below.
Nexocode, Valcon, DataSentics, Tredence and Intuz
Nexocode, in Kraków, sells dynamic pricing engine development and wrote a 2023 guide to dynamic pricing consulting. It has a 4.9 rating on Clutch and names no pricing client, so ask for one before you sign.
Valcon builds pricing models inside wider transformation work, including a pricing API for an anonymised UK automotive repair group. The UK section below covers it.
DataSentics, in Prague, has been part of Atos since Atos bought it in 2021. Its named pricing case, a dynamic pricing project for Dr.Max, is published on the casestudies.com aggregator.
Tredence, in San Jose, sells pricing and promotion analytics to large retailers and consumer goods brands, and reports a Leader placement in ISG’s 2025 Retail and CPG Analytics report. Its pricing case studies are anonymised.
Intuz, in San Ramon and Ahmedabad, is an app and ML developer with a dynamic pricing page. Clutch lists its rates at $50 to $99 an hour, and it publishes no pricing case study.
When a pricing strategy consulting firm is the right call
Hire a strategy firm when the open question is price level, packaging, discount policy or the commercial model, and when a sales force has to be brought to follow the new prices. We send SaaS list-price strategy to Simon-Kucher ourselves, and our pricing page says so.
Simon-Kucher calls itself a “commercial growth and pricing consultancy” and reports gold for marketing, brand and pricing in the FT’s 2026 UK Leading Management Consultants ranking. Its case studies are anonymised, and it sells its Engine software beside the consulting.
BCG’s pricing and revenue management practice runs its Pricing Catalyst tool and its Pricing Enablement Centers. BCG also builds: BCG X took an AI revenue management system across the TUI Cruises fleet in ten months. A buyer who wants strategy and a build from one firm, at the scale of a large transformation, can buy both here.
McKinsey pairs its pricing practice with Periscope, software that IDC named a Leader for B2B price optimisation in 2021. The trade is that you license McKinsey’s software and leave the model with McKinsey.
Bain runs a pricing practice with its Pricing Navigator tool and lists London pricing partners. L.E.K. Consulting sells pricing and revenue optimisation from London-based experts and names no clients on that page. Deloitte sells pricing and profitability management inside its wider consulting, with its Polaris tool, and reports more than 600 pricing projects.
Among smaller firms, Insight2Profit, with offices in Cleveland, Chicago and Columbus, works for US industrial and distribution companies, many of them backed by private equity. Alexander Group is a go-to-market and sales firm with a pricing capability, which suits a buyer redesigning sales coverage and pricing together.
None of these firms publishes a fee, and each hands over a decision and a programme. A pricing model that has to run every day still needs someone to build it and keep it running.
When to buy pricing software instead of hiring anyone
If your pricing problem looks like the one your industry shares, license the software. Our own pricing page says the same: “If your problem fits a platform vendor, you should buy the platform.”
In B2B quoting and rebates, Conga bought PROS’s B2B pricing business in February 2026, after Thoma Bravo took PROS private, and PROS’s airline pricing business became a separate company. Ask Conga how its roadmap will change while it merges the PROS business into its own.
When Gartner published its first Magic Quadrant for the category in April 2026, Pricefx, Conga and Vendavo each reported a Leader placement. Zilliant, based in Austin, names Farnell, onsemi and Ben E. Keith among its customers. We stay out of B2B negotiated pricing, so for that work these four are the right call.
In hotels, Duetto, owned by GrowthCurve Capital, names Meliá, Sonesta and Virgin Hotels, and bought FLYR Hospitality in October 2026. IDeaS is a SAS company and sells to hotel chains. For a single independent hotel, RoomPriceGenie won best RMS at the 2026 HotelTechAwards, with IDeaS first runner-up.
For vacation rentals, PriceLabs is self-serve and publishes its per-listing prices. In retail, Competera names Sephora, iHerb and Cult Beauty, and Omnia Retail sells to European retailers with a published plan for small shops.
Software stops where its vendor’s own roadmap does, and a vendor testing a method beyond that roadmap is our customer too. Duetto hired us to evaluate offline reinforcement learning before committing to it in production, and our Duetto evaluation records that the work “avoided premature production investment”.
Whichever platform you license, the vendor controls the model and its roadmap, so a problem that fits is cheap to run and one that fits badly is expensive to bend. A live pricing model, whoever built it, also has to be kept accurate as demand shifts. That is MLOps work, and we sell it too.
Dynamic pricing consultants in the UK
Dynamic pricing consultants in the UK sort into the same three kinds. For a build, Winder.AI is remote, but based in the UK. Public sector buyers can also go through G-Cloud, the UK government’s buying framework, where Valcon sells a predictive pricing service and Applied Data Science Partners lists price optimisation, though it publishes no pricing case study I could find.
For strategy, Simon-Kucher has run a London office since 2002, and Bain and L.E.K. list London-based pricing partners.
Hotels that want someone to run revenue management for them can hire a consultancy instead. MavREV, in York, works with independent UK properties, and XOTELS, a Dutch firm, runs a London office.
What dynamic pricing consulting costs
Our dynamic pricing service page lists four price bands:
- Pricing readiness assessment: £15,000 to £25,000, over two to four weeks.
- Proof of concept: £60,000 to £180,000, over eight to twelve weeks.
- Production system: from £180,000, over four to nine months.
- Managed service after launch: from £4,000 a month plus usage.
For work outside pricing, our published prices cover hourly consulting and fixed-price projects.
None of the strategy firms or enterprise pricing vendors in this comparison publishes a price, as of November 2026, so enterprise pricing software is quote-only. Tools for small operators do publish theirs. PriceLabs starts at $19.99 a month for the first vacation-rental listing in the US and UK, and Omnia Retail’s small-shop plan starts at €399 a month.
On G-Cloud, as of November 2026, Valcon and Applied Data Science Partners each list a rate for every data science role, and neither listing states the unit. Those are rates for people, and our bands above price a whole project, so ask each firm to quote the same piece of work. Nexocode’s hourly band on Clutch is in the table.
Questions to ask a dynamic pricing consultant
These are the questions I would put to any firm on this list, ours included:
- A named pricing client. Ask for one, and for the metric that client measured.
- Testing before live prices. Ask how they will test a pricing model before it sets a real price. Ours is a multi-metric offline evaluation, then staged A/B or geo experiments in production.
- Who writes the code. Ask whether the people in the pitch are the people who build it.
- Who owns the result. Ask whether you own the model and the data pipeline at the end.
- The alternative. Ask what they would recommend if the answer is to buy software. A firm that never recommends software is selling one thing.
The list leaves out who keeps the model accurate once it is live, so ask anyone who builds one about that too.
Our own answer to the last question is on our pricing page, which sends B2B negotiated pricing to Pricefx or Vendavo, SaaS list-price strategy to Simon-Kucher, and insurance primary pricing and actuarial rate filings to specialist actuarial consultancies. Lending and credit pricing stays with us, through our finance practice, and a smaller business turning spreadsheet quoting into a working engine needs an AI agent build. When the answer is a pricing system built on your data, start with our dynamic pricing consulting services or talk to us.
Frequently asked questions
It depends which kind of help you need, and the three kinds are different purchases. For a bespoke machine learning pricing system built on your own data: engineering firms such as Winder.AI and Nexocode. For pricing strategy and commercial transformation: Simon-Kucher, BCG, Bain and L.E.K. For packaged pricing software: Conga (which bought PROS’s B2B pricing business in 2026), Pricefx, Zilliant and Vendavo in B2B, and Duetto and IDeaS in hotels. Most firms sell one of the three. BCG, which also builds through BCG X, and McKinsey, which also licenses its Periscope software, sell two. Winder.AI publishes this comparison and sits in the first group.
Hire a custom build when the software does not fit your inventory, constraints or data, or when you are a software vendor deciding whether to build new pricing methods into your own product, as Duetto did when it evaluated offline reinforcement learning for its hotel pricing with Winder.AI, the publisher of this comparison. Buy software when your pricing problem looks like your industry’s standard one: a hotel with a normal channel mix, B2B quoting from a price list, retail markdowns. Hire a strategy firm when the question is what to charge and how to package it.
Winder.AI, which publishes this comparison, publishes its prices: a pricing readiness assessment runs £15,000 to £25,000 over two to four weeks, a proof of concept £60,000 to £180,000 over eight to twelve weeks, and a production pricing system starts from £180,000. None of the strategy firms or enterprise pricing software vendors in this comparison publishes a price, as of November 2026, so enterprise software is quote-only. Tools for small operators do publish: PriceLabs starts at $19.99 a month for one vacation-rental listing, and Omnia Retail’s small-shop plan starts at €399 a month.
Sometimes. Pricing is a sequential decision with delayed rewards, which is what reinforcement learning is for, but you cannot let an untrained agent experiment on live prices. Offline reinforcement learning learns from historical pricing data instead. In Winder.AI’s five-month evaluation with Duetto on real hotel booking data, the work went from behavioural cloning baselines to Implicit Q-Learning and showed where RL beats simpler methods and what data quality it needs first.
Ask for a named pricing client and the metric it measured, how they will evaluate a pricing model before it touches live prices, who on their team writes the code, whether you own the model and the data pipeline at the end, and what they would recommend if the answer is to buy software instead. A firm that never recommends software is selling one thing.
Winder.AI, which publishes this comparison, is registered in the UK, has run production machine learning since 2013, and evaluated offline reinforcement learning for hotel pricing with Duetto. For strategy, Simon-Kucher has run a London office since 2002, and Bain and L.E.K. list London-based pricing partners. For a build bought through the UK government’s G-Cloud framework, Valcon lists a predictive pricing service and Applied Data Science Partners lists price optimisation. Hotel revenue management consultancies such as MavREV in York advise independent hotels on running their pricing.
